Halo 5's Warzone mode is another clear innovation and step forward. Its a pretty simple idea that has been executed extremely well. The primary mechanic (very detailed destruction) is likely something that the PS360 consoles just arent capable of. Rainbow Six Siege is maybe the best representation of a game that could most likely not exist at all on the last gen consoles.

It had the misfortune of being closely tied to the Great Console Warz of 2014 but it was a great game in many ways and even PS4 fans seem excited for the sequel. There are plenty of similarities, but there are tons of new mechanics and ideas in it. Titanfall represents an actual evolution of the CoD formula. In terms of games that are really moving beyond the CoD clones, there have been quite a few recently. I think a lot of it was due to how long the last generation lasted - there was a set piece of technology and companies werent able to move past it for 7 or 8 years. It was all just console oriented shooting mechanics with shitloads of unlockables. CoD was so successful that clones werent really interested in really even adding new wrinkles. We were stuck in a CoD clone rut for quite a long time. But I don't know if I'll stick around for long. I'll give the game a try once it becomes F2P for Xbox, and might even jump on to try it on PC. I worry that it might be too late for a second wind. But it took them a year and a half to do it, and their game almost died in that time. Giving all Hunters the ability to dome and making the game more combat-focused is the right thing to do. I'm glad they're finally addressing those issues. So for a lot of people, the first 3/4 of a match involved running around trying hopelessly to work together with your teammates to find the Monster. The hunting never really panned out the way they intended it to because of limited communication. That's really poor design for a multiplayer only game. A bad Trapper would ruin the game, period. Public games were awful far too often because the game placed too much value on each Hunter fulfilling a necessary role. The complaints about DLC seemed trivial compared to the fundamental issues with gameplay. I enjoyed the game, but it had far too many problems.
